The Clothing Exchange believes that looking good shouldn’t cost the earth.
Swapping is a clever and thrifty way to update your wardrobe without hitting the shops. It saves you pennies and the planet too!
Eligibility
To participate you must drop clothes off. For each item you drop off you will receive a token which can then be used to select another item. A maximum of eight items per person will be accepted.
Please note: the clothes drop off starts at 12.00pm and the clothes swap exchange starts at 1.00pm.
What we accept
We will only accept items that are:
- clean, folded or pressed
- good quality with a long potential lifespan
- free of faults or with minor faults that are easy to repair (for example, a missing button)
The best items to swap are good quality garments that you once loved but are no longer your favourites or perhaps no longer fit you perfectly. This way, you’re giving them a second life with someone new who will treasure them.
Whatever you swap, please make sure you are emotionally detached from the item, as once it has been swapped you cannot change your mind.
What we don't accept
We will not accept:
- anything pilled, smelly or too far from perfect
- undergarments
- swimwear
- tracksuits
Please note: we have quality screening processes at our events.
Any items left over after the event finishes are donated to a local charity.

With a vibrant food and art culture with a touch of history, Manningham is a special place to be. Retaining many of its cultural links, there’s something for everyone in Manningham: from sacred sites of the area’s First Peoples to the early gold mining settlements.
Local government
Local government in the area dates back to the election of the Templestowe District Roads Board in 1856. The first meeting of the Board was at Upper Yarra Hotel, Templestowe.
Proclamation that the Shire of Doncaster and Templestowe took place on 28 February 1967. Up until 15 December 1994, Doncaster and Templestowe Council administered the area until the creation of the City of Manningham. The new city included Doncaster, Templestowe and small sections of the Shire of Lilydale. Wonga Park and part of north Ringwood also became part of Manningham. Three State Government appointed commissioners managed the city until 24 march 1997 when 8 councillors were sworn into office.

Our First Nations heritage
You can see the rich cultural heritage of the area through local landmarks and places of significance. First Peoples have been in Victoria for over 30,000 years and we can still see evidence of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung presence in Manningham.

The European influence (mid 1800s)
From the mid-1800s, European settlement began in Manningham with the earliest building constructed in the 1840s. We still have plenty of places of heritage significance where visitors and locals can explore and admire.
Our suburbs
Each suburb in Manningham has its own unique characteristics and are wonderful places to live and visit.
We’re excited to announce the first two public electric vehicle (EV) charger locations: Templestowe Village and Tunstall Square.
About the chargers
Planned for installation in May to June 2025, these charging stations are part of a broader rollout of nine public EV chargers across Manningham.
Powered by renewable energy, these Evie ultra fast chargers are compatible with all EVs. They will provide 150km of range in 30 minutes, with charging costs ranging from 58 to 68 cents per kWh, depending on the location.
Both Templestowe Village and Tunstall Square will each have two chargers, with each charger servicing two parking bays.
Following engagement with the local businesses, these locations were selected for their proximity to commercial, recreational and tourist destinations, as well as their access to reliable power supplies.
Why we’re supporting EVs
By installing these charging stations – and the seven more to follow – we aim to accommodate the growing use of electric vehicles, especially following new legislated vehicle standards.
We’re also responding to community support for local public charging facilities, as revealed in our 2023 Manningham community survey.
The public charging network will help ensure that EV charging is accessible and practical while also reducing our transport emissions, boosting local businesses with enhanced car parking, and supporting EV drivers to travel with confidence.
