- EV users will likely be attracted to shops and activity centres that provide EV chargers. While charging up, EV users can explore nearby shops, businesses and recreational facilities.

We acknowledge that some people in the community have reservations about this emerging technology. The following information will help you understand the strict safety measures and protocols employed by the technology providers.
Are EV chargers a fire risk?
- Fire risks are generally associated with the batteries in EVs, not the chargers themselves. EV chargers are designed with fire safety measures and must meet Australian standards for safety certification. EVs are significantly less likely to catch fire than internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, by about 60 times.
Is my data safe?
- Both providers operate under the Privacy Protection Act and are held to strict standards to ensure they do not disclose any data. Strict data security protocols are in place to safeguard user information.
