What is the 'in home' bin collection service?

If you are in need of assistance putting out your weekly household bins for collection, we may be able to help.

Who can access this service?

If you, or the person you are applying for:

  • is unable to put the bins out for collection on their own due to frailty, disability medical or mobility conditions

  • does not have any one else in their home able to help put the bins out for collection.

How to access this service

As this is a limited service, your application will need to be assessed.

To start the process email waste@manningham.vic.gov.au with your:

  • full name
  • contact number
  • property address
  • email
  • the reason why you're needing the service
  • copy of a confirmation certificate or letter from your medical practitioner

What happens next?

After receiving confirmation, our contractor will assess the best place for the bins to be placed within your property. Then when your bins are due for collection, they'll collect the bins from that position and return the bins once emptied.

We may review, cancel or withdraw the ‘in home' service if it presents a work, health and safety risk to our contractor, either before or after the service has started. If necessary, either we or our contractor will discuss alternative arrangements for bin presentation and collection with you.
