Bring along your family and friends and help plant native trees and vegetation to protect the park's natural environment.

Our team will provide advice on how and where to plant the plants to support local habitat.

What to bring

We'll provide all the tools, equipment, and plants. All you need to bring is a personal water bottle and any snacks.

Where to meet

Ruffey Lake Park, along the creek at the bottom of Church Road entrance, Park available at the Victoria Street entrance.

Please note this year's National Tree Day also has a second location at:

It is the day in which we remember all Australians who served and died in all wars and operational service past and present. Come along and mark the day at one of the RSL services in Manningham.

  • 8.15 am: March

    Prior to the ANZAC service a march will commence at the Templestowe Hotel car park.

  • 8.30 am: Service

    Templestowe RSL will hold an ANZAC service followed by a Gunfire Breakfast at the clubhouse at the conclusion of the service.

    Prior to the ANZAC service a march will commence in Yarra Street.

  • 10.45am: Service

    Warrandyte RSL will hold an ANZAC service at the conclusion of the march noted above. Refreshments and morning tea will be available in the club following the service. Limited reserved seating is available on the club balcony for those unable to stand for the service. Doors open from 10.00am.

Please join us at our annual Yaluk Langa Community Day to celebrate the continuing creative culture and traditions of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, Heide’s Traditional Owners.

Bring your picnic for this free Community Day, held in Heide’s new Gathering Space. Heide is a public art museum and sculpture park located on a stretch of the Birrarung/Yarra River that has long served as a meeting point and as a creative hub. Parking is available on site.

Learn about the Indigenous history of the local landscape and the role everyone can play in Caring for Country from Wurundjeri Elders, who will share stories around the contemporary tree scarring and shield projects funded by Manningham Council, and the revegetation of the river’s edge. 

Activities include performances by the Djirri Djirri dancers, Marn Grook ‘footy’ games played with a possum fur ball, and nature-based art making.

Registrations are essential and can be made via Eventbrite.

 

What you need to do

When you register, select the time slot you wish to drop off your waste and we’ll take care of the rest.

 

Only the following items will be accepted:

  • Small household electrical items (like toasters, hairdryers and tools)
  • IT and TV equipment (like computers, printers and cables)
  • Computer accessories (like keyboards, mice and storage devices)
  • Game consoles and electronic toys (remove batteries)
  • VCR, DVD and CD players
  • Microwaves
  • DVD and CDs (no VHS tapes)
  • Household and car batteries
  • X-rays
  • Clean polystyrene - blocks only (no pellets or balls)
  • Cardboard (must be flattened - limited to one car boot load per person)

 

We do not accept:

  • vacuum cleaners
  • electric blankets

 

We reserve the right to reject any unsuitable items.

Variety Activate Inclusion Sports Day (AISD) gives kids the opportunity to try sports they might otherwise miss out on.

Aimed at kids aged 5 to 18 years with learning difficulties, intellectual, sensory and physical disabilities. This is an opportunity to have a go in a fun and inclusive environment. 

The day involves:

  • a range of sports to try
  • specialised coaching
  • adaptive equipment
  • showbags
  • water and fruit
  • local sporting club exhibitors
  • access to community services
  • opportunities to network

Benefits of attending the day:

  • the health benefits of physical activity

In partnership with Manningham Council, EV invites Seniors of Manningham to enjoy a day outing to Puffing Billy in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.

The event is available to residents of Manningham aged 65 years and over.

Included is bus transport to and from the Dandenong Ranges for a trip on Puffing Billy as well as morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Please note: date may be subject to change, dependent on weather and train bookings.
