Article Content

You’re invited to share your ideas and priorities for our community’s future by making an ‘Individual submission’ to the Manningham Community Panel.

Make an individual submission.

Your input will be considered by the Panel as they deliberate and prepare recommendations for Council’s major strategic plans.

What will the panel deliberate on?

Council endorsed the following remit for the Manningham Community Panel at its 25 June 2024 meeting.

Council has a budget of $147m, but we can’t do everything and need to make hard choices. We need to know what services you value most to help us create a new Council Plan, Asset Plan and Financial Plan to guide Council activity for the next four years to align with the Community Vision. It will inform what the community pays and gets in return.

What range and level of services are you prepared to pay for?

Submit your ideas about what the panel should consider as they work together to answer this question.

This consultation closes Thursday 19 September at 11.59pm.

Community will also be welcome to observe the deliberative process at several open Panel sessions – more information will be available on the Your Say Manningham page shortly.

Apply for a landscape bond refund
… Please read the information below if you have a Planning Permit for a development that had a condition …

Landscape inspections are no longer being undertaken by Manningham Council.

Requests for inspections are not required when a development is completed.

It is the responsibility of the permit holder to ensure that the development is completed according to the endorsed development and landscape plans and any other endorsed documents.

Apply for a refund of your landscaping bond

If we are holding a landscape bond as a condition of a Permit, you can request a refund. How you apply for a refund depends on the current status of your Permit and development.

Planning Permit is valid

If you have paid a landscaping bond for a Permit that is still current (the development is under construction or yet to start), the Permit must be amended to remove the landscaping bond condition before we can refund the bond.

The property owner/Permit holder must lodge the application to amend the Planning Permit, or provide written consent to Council, for the conditions of a Permit to be amended.

There is no application fee to remove the bond condition.

A one-day practical seminar visiting sites around Warrandyte that have had their local native vegetation restored using a range of techniques.

Join your land restoration guides, Alan Noy and Glenn Jameson on the land and for a short summary session in the study room.

They will take you on a local journey observing and discussing practical aspects of revegetation design, local vegetation patterns, choosing plants, maintenance, and long-term management of natural vegetation.

Visit sites where our community is attempting to reconcile the loss of biodiversity and learn how we can be part of that reconciliation process through the revegetation of the land.

The Clothing Exchange believes that looking good shouldn’t cost the earth.

Swapping is a clever and thrifty way to update your wardrobe without hitting the shops. It saves you pennies and the planet too!

Eligibility
To participate you must drop clothes off. For each item you drop off you will receive a token which can then be used to select another item. A maximum of eight items per person will be accepted.

Please note: the clothes drop off starts at 12.00pm and the clothes swap exchange starts at 1.00pm.

What we accept

We will only accept items that are:

  • clean, folded or pressed
  • good quality with a long potential lifespan
  • free of faults or with minor faults that are easy to repair (for example, a missing button)

The best items to swap are good quality garments that you once loved but are no longer your favourites or perhaps no longer fit you perfectly. This way, you’re giving them a second life with someone new who will treasure them.

Whatever you swap, please make sure you are emotionally detached from the item, as once it has been swapped you cannot change your mind.

What we don't accept

We will not accept:

  • anything pilled, smelly or too far from perfect
  • undergarments
  • swimwear
  • tracksuits

Please note: we have quality screening processes at our events.

Any items left over after the event finishes are donated to a local charity.

Power 2 Pedal is a fun and welcoming program, delivered in a safe environment where kids and teens with autism will learn and develop their bike riding skills.

This program will also support people to build their skills and confidence to be able to include bike riding in their everyday life, for example riding to school.

When

Each Monday between 22 April and 27 May 2024 (six week program).

Cost

$90 or participants can use NDIS plans to pay for the program.

Beginners (Level 1)

This level is designed for those who are new to bike riding or those who have been riding with training wheels. Focus areas will be balancing, pedalling, steering and braking.

If your child is a more advanced rider, register for the Level 2 (intermediate) program instead.

Support staff

We recommend all participants have someone with them at the program to support their development one-on-one.

Please note that support staff are not organised through this program. Should participant support be required, please organise this through a disability service provider (such as Leisure Networks).

What to bring

Participants are encouraged to bring their own bike and helmet. If this is not possible and you require access to equipment or you are unsure what level would be appropriate for your child, please phone Tori on 0434 412 989 or email tori.honner@leisurenetworks.org.

Playhouse Pantomimes returns to the Doncaster Playhouse with their fan favourite, original musical adaptation of 'Cinderella', written by Blake Everett, with music and lyrics by Blake Everett and Matt Wallace.

Cinderella, originally by Charles Perrault, is a favourite among children and adults alike. The Playhouse Pantomimes have taken this tale, adapted, and updated it, turning it into a non-stop comedic romp for all ages. The story features many iconic and instantly recognisable characters, such as Cinderella, Prince Charming and The Ugly Step Sisters.

Join us for a vibrant, comedic, pantomime-style retelling of this classic tale. Oh, and make sure you're wearing clean socks, just in case Prince Charming asks you to try on a shoe.

Presented by Playhouse Pantomimes.
