As part of Manningham Council's Community Training Program we invite members of community organisations to find out more about Council's Community Grants Program. 

This session will provide information on the Community Partnership Grant funding that is available to not-for profit organisations operating in Manningham to achieve longer term community and cultural development outcomes. Funding is for up to $50,000 per year to a total of $200,000 over 4 years.

Interested representatives from established and experienced community organisations including community and children’s services, sports clubs, recreation, leisure, arts and cultural groups are encouraged to attend this information session. There will also be an opportunity to receive early advice regarding your proposed activity from Council officers.

The local community is invited to a guided walk to learn about the billabong's extraordinary significance  and to help in a working bee to collect old tree guards. 

Refreshments will follow. 

This event is part of the 2024 Birrarung Riverfest.

Help celebrate the opening of the Doncaster Hill Community Garden’s new shed, art mural and food cubes.

The day will include an official opening of the shed by special guests Jane Edmanton (ABC Gardening Australia) and Mayor Cr Deidre Diamante at 11.00am. This will be followed by free children's gardening activities with Tiffany from Chooktopia.

Come and join the fun at the Doncaster Hill Community Garden! 

Every 2 weeks community members gather to lend a hand with planting, sowing seeds, weeding, watering and harvesting fresh produce. 

Comprising of 24 garden beds, fruit trees and herb patches, the produce is grown and harvested communally. There are no fences, locked gates or private plots. While most of the produce gets donated to local food banks, volunteers are able to get involved in fun and interesting activities, learn about gardening and connect with others. 

The garden is open to all and welcomes anyone with an interest in growing food, meeting others and learning new things. 

All gardening tools are provided. Please bring a water bottle, hat and closed toe shoes. 

No registration required.

This session covers fire safety essentials information including:

Do you need support to help your newborn baby learn to sleep? Come along to one of our free information sessions.

Through the Maternal and Child Health Sleep and Settling initiative, we are providing support for parents experiencing sleep and settling concerns with their young children.

During this in-person session, consultants will teach you an evidence-informed sleep and settling model of care.

Topics covered will include:

• Age specific development
• Normal sleep patterns
• Ways to deal with sleep difficulties
• Information about your wellbeing.

There will be time at the end of the session for you to ask questions about your specific situation.

In addition to the sessions, we are proud to provide an outreach service for interested parents. Speak to our Sleep and Settling Specialist at the end of the session for more information.

Only parents who attend Manningham Maternal and Child Health service are eligible for this service.

Sessions are also available for older babies and toddlers.

Guided by the Ruffey Lake Park Landscape Masterplan and the playspace community reference group, we’ve developed a preliminary concept design and would like your thoughts. 

Join us at the playground for a conversation with the designers while your kids build their big ideas for the playground at our Lego table.
