kose karu kin is a special project led by Manningham resident, Grace Dlabik. Connecting indigenous women and non-binary folk through clay making using memory, embodiment, nurture, nourishment, and connection. kose karu kin invites you to view the cyclical nature of the materials used in this project, from raw clay, and traditional practices, to shared experiences within community.

Play with optical filters, colour and light to create a blossom that will delight.  

Join the creative team Skunk Control for a fun workshop to create small flower sculptures. You will use optical filters that cast colour shadows in sunlight and create a flower about to bloom. 

In 2023, Skunk Control will be creating a public artwork for a new park in Hepburn Road Doncaster. As part of this project, they are engaging with the community to create these flowers.  

The flowers will be displayed at MC Square and planted for a time at the new park as part of the public artwork.

Clean Up Australia Day is happening on Sunday 2 March, come along and help keep our beautiful city clean.

We would love our community members to join our Councillors and staff at Boronia Reserve - 105 Leeds Street, Doncaster East (meet in car park). 

We will be conducting our litter collection along Koonung Creek Linear Park.

Each participant will be issued with gloves and litter collection gear.

BBQ lunch will be provided from 12.30pm.

The Warrandyte Historical Society invite you to come and learn about the discovery of gold in Warrandyte and how it shaped the township and community.

Warrandyte is justifiably proud of its place in the gold history of Victoria. Gold was first discovered at Anderson's Creek in June 1851. It was the first officially published goldfield, named the 'Victoria Field', in honour of the new Colony. It was also the first place in the Colony to issue gold mining licences.

This exhibit celebrates the 170th anniversary of the first discovery by Louis John Michel and his team. You'll find interesting and colourful banners on display inside and outside the Museum, showcasing
 the discovery of gold and how this has shaped the township and community. They share the lure of gold and excitement around the discovery that continues today. 

You can visit to see the outside banners placed on the fence-line of the Museum at any time during the Heritage Festival. To access the banners inside the Museum, please see the exhibition times.

This exhibition is open from 18 April to 22 May 2022.
The indoor exhibition inside the Museum, is open on Sundays, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

There is both on-street parking, and off-road car parks available on Yarra Street.

GO Soccer Mums is an introductory soccer program designed specifically for women.

It's not only for mums but women from all walks of life! 

In 2022, we've been excited to welcome our Muslim community and any women, female-identifying, and non-binary participants.

Participants will have fun, meet new people, and learn basic football skills in a judgment-free environment.

It doesn't matter if you have never kicked a football before. No experience is necessary, and anybody can take part.

Bring a drink bottle and wear shoes and clothes that allow you to move, run and kick.

This group is for teenage girls, non-binary and gender diverse people to connect with others and develop confidence communicating their feelings and needs.

Participants will be supported to explore:

• experience of emotions in the body
• responses to conflict, including fight, flight and freeze responses
• communication of feelings and needs
• strengths and developing self-confidence
• needs for connection

This group is facilitated by skilled counsellors with the use of creative methods within an inclusive, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.

Participants are required to participate in all 4 sessions. The maximum number of participants is 8.

Please note: this group is not suitable for those who are experiencing mental health issues that require more specialised professional support.

 

Mind Calm will be facilitated by group therapists and is suitable for those who are new to meditation and people who wish to explore or extend their current practice.

• Discover what mind stilling methods work for you. 
• Experience mindfulness.
• Learn breathing techniques.
• Practice different types of meditation.

This event has a series of four sessions.
