GO Soccer Mums is an introductory soccer program designed specifically for women.

It's not only for mums but women from all walks of life! 

In 2022, we've been excited to welcome our Muslim community and any women, female-identifying, and non-binary participants.

Participants will have fun, meet new people, and learn basic football skills in a judgment-free environment.

It doesn't matter if you have never kicked a football before. No experience is necessary, and anybody can take part.

Bring a drink bottle and wear shoes and clothes that allow you to move, run and kick.

This group is for teenage girls, non-binary and gender diverse people to connect with others and develop confidence communicating their feelings and needs.

Participants will be supported to explore:

• experience of emotions in the body
• responses to conflict, including fight, flight and freeze responses
• communication of feelings and needs
• strengths and developing self-confidence
• needs for connection

This group is facilitated by skilled counsellors with the use of creative methods within an inclusive, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.

Participants are required to participate in all 4 sessions. The maximum number of participants is 8.

Please note: this group is not suitable for those who are experiencing mental health issues that require more specialised professional support.

 

Free Basketball clinic hosted by Michele Timms and supported by some of the best local female players in Manningham.

This training session is guaranteed to make you smile and sweat in the best way possible!

Open to females of all abilities and fitness levels. Bring your mum, daughter, sister, girlfriend or friend.

There will be an opportunity at the end of the session for a Q and A with Michele Timms.

Celebrating women and girls of all shapes, sizes, skill levels and abilities. Women supporting women in their pursuit of mind and body wellness, giving it a go and setting the example to our girls about maintaining an active lifestyle.

This unique and fun dance session is designed to engage the mind and body to improve and enhance mind-body health.

This is an adult/open program for females during This Girl Can Week.

Multicultural dance for wellbeing is based on the principles of neuroplasticity and the proven benefits of dance.

This program incorporates breathing techniques to calm the mind, and an exercise routine to develop strength, flexibility and fitness of the body. It also includes creative dance and music from different cultures to create a space to express yourself, as well as providing opportunities to make new social connections.

No previous dance experience is required.

Registrations are essential.

Show your solidarity and support of mental health and help raise awareness about the importance to talk about it, and NOT stay silent.

Raising mental health awareness is an important initiative to improve understanding and increase access to services for those who need it.

This is a free inclusive event, open to all ages.

Participants who register before 4 November will receive a free T-shirt. 

Lucky lap prizes will be awarded throughout the day.

Join staff from Aquarena for a fitness session using the body weight equipment at the Lake Circuit Path Exercise Station at Ruffey Lake Park.

Sessions run for 45 minutes and are suitable for people of all genders aged 18 years and over.

No experience needed and all fitness levels welcome.

Come join in the fun at the ever-popular Manningham Family Festival at Finns Reserve - presented by Rotary Manningham City.

This annual community event features kids' attractions like pony rides, a jumping castle, a merry-go-round, and a baby animal farm.

On stage, we celebrate our community’s talent with performances from over 100 local adult and children's entertainers.

There are also 50 community and craft stalls, and a wide selection of food stalls to enjoy.

This day is always fun for all the family, from babies and toddlers to bigger children, teenagers, parents, grandparents and even the dog!

Our introduction to wheelwork class is a hands on experience where you'll learn the art of making on the pottery wheel.

Our experienced teacher Tracey will guide you through the process of learning the basic skills to begin throwing on the wheel to create pottery. 

Your pieces will then be trimmed, fired, glazed, and will be ready to collect a few weeks after the workshop. We offer a safe and fun environment where you can let your creativity blossom.

Hear from expert Rodney Van Der Ree on local projects that are helping address the impacts of road and traffic on biodiversity, including fauna bridges, monitoring cameras and virtual fencing.

Manningham Council is actively working to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions through installing canopy bridges and virtual fences. These measures aim to protect local wildlife by deterring them from crossing roads and providing safer pathways for movement.

World Tai Chi Day is on Saturday 30 April and to celebrate, we're running a series of free outdoor Tai Chi and Qigong sessions for adults.

These two sessions will be at Mullum Mullum Reserve. They're one hour long, and facilitated by experienced instructor, Suzette Hosken, from Jade Lady Tai Chi & Qigong.

Join our local Land Restoration Guides, Alan Noy and Glenn Jameson for an interactive walk in 100 Acres Reserve, and for a summary session in the study room. Learn how to successfully tackle weeds and support local wildlife on your block. Become empowered to collectively regenerate our native bushland and help it thrive, so that you can improve the natural beauty of where you live.

This workshop is FREE and take home notes will be provided.

Join Elana from Cloth Nappy Workshops Melbourne to discover the world of modern cloth nappies.

She will take you through everything you need to know to get started with cloth nappies. Learn how to wash them, where to buy them and what to look for.

She will cover washing tips, dispel myths, show the different styles of modern cloth and most importantly an opportunity to ask questions to get you confident with cloth.

Let's Crochet Together offers senior residents of Manningham an enjoyable and practical crochet session, with a special focus on those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Participants will not only acquire basic crochet skills, but also have the opportunity to build new community connections. 

Refreshments will be provided, and each participant will receive a complimentary crochet kit. 

Please note: this event will be conducted in Cantonese.

This event is free of charge for older adults aged 65 and above from Manningham. Spots are limited and fill up quickly, registrations essential.
