The Great Southern Bioblitz is an opportunity for all Southern Hemisphere countries to record organisms during spring and showcase our beautiful biodiversity to the world. 

You can get involved by taking photos of plants and animals or making sound recordings of wildlife using iNaturalist. 

The bioblitz takes place between Saturday 24 October and Monday 27 October.

Let's show the world the incredible biodiversity of Manningham. A great reason to be out and about in nature!

Experience Country Life in the city with a trip to Chesterfield Farm. 

Enjoy a real ‘hands on’ experience of farm life: meet a variety of animals,  explore the 100 acre agricultural farm and learn about how a daily farm runs. 

We will have a morning coffee together, before we explore what the farm has to offer, and then move to the Notting Hill Hotel for lunch.

Cost includes transport from your door, morning coffee, entry to the farm, and lunch.

Home Harvest Manningham is a monthly home gardening seminar series that will teach you how to grow your own delicious fresh food at home.

In this comprehensive program, Sustainable Gardening Australia will cover everything you need to know about preparing your garden (in Spring) for a bumper summer harvest.

Part 2 will cover:

• garden maintenance and preparation
• selecting what to plant and when to plant it
• summer veggies in pots
• mulching
• smart watering and managing hot weather
• introducing sustainable ways to improve productivity
• starting with seeds and seedlings
• tips for sustainably avoiding and managing pests and diseases
• feeding the soil and summer crops.

Food swap from 6.45pm, session starts at 7.00pm.

Come join in the fun at the ever-popular Manningham Family Festival at Finns Reserve - presented by Rotary Manningham City.

This annual community event features kids' attractions like pony rides, a jumping castle, a merry-go-round, and a baby animal farm.

On stage, we celebrate our community’s talent with performances from over 100 local adult and children's entertainers.

There are also 50 community and craft stalls, and a wide selection of food stalls to enjoy.

This day is always fun for all the family, from babies and toddlers to bigger children, teenagers, parents, grandparents and even the dog!

We all strive to maintain our health, avoid injuries, and live independently in our homes for as long as possible. However, falls remain one of the leading causes of injury and fatality among older adults, with approximately half of these incidents occurring in or around the home.

To address this important issue, Manningham Council, in collaboration with Access Health and Community, are offering a free, one-hour information session.

This session will cover:

• why older adults are at risk of falls
• how to reduce the risk of falls
• how to stay active and independent for longer
• where to find help to reduce or manage falls.

This information session is part of our commitment to working towards becoming an Age Friendly City.

This project has been delivered by Manningham Council in partnership with the Victorian Government.

On in Manningham Art Gallery's Curio display window, this small exhibition of works by Anni Hagberg and Rhys Cousins extends the artists' recent exhibitions in the gallery, exploring and playing with materials in innovative and exciting ways.

The display pairs silk prints of finely detailed photographs of non-descript textures by Cousins with a collection of amorphous ceramic and mixed media objects created through experimental firings by Hagberg.

Together, the items speak to the artists' shared interest in everyday, discarded or otherwise forgotten materials and surfaces of modern urban environments and how they interact in myriad ways.
