The Infant Feeding, Active play and Nutrition (INFANT) program provides parents with evidence-based skills and information about healthy eating and active play for their babies.
INFANT is an evidence-based initiative led by our local Maternal Child Health (MCH) Nurses.
Sessions cover topics including:
- feeding, solids introduction, healthy eating, food refusal and fussy eating
- strategies and ideas on how to play with your baby
- the role that parent wellbeing plays in your baby’s life
- experiences, strategies and tips from other parents.
Cost: Free
Who should attend: Parents and caregivers
Please note: This is the 3 months session - for babies aged from 2 to 4 months.
We offer interactive sessions in four different age groups:
- 3 months (babies aged from 2 to 4 months)
- 6 months (babies aged from 5 to 7 months)
- 9 months (babies aged from 8 to 10 months)
- 12 months (babies aged from 11 to 13 months).

We identify and prioritise the routes and stops that commuters use most.
We consider community feedback, commuter demand and nearby services and facilities to identify locations where new shelters or upgrades are needed.
Works to build new shelters are prioritised by:
- commuter demand and historical requests
- the type of road the bus stop is located on
- the bus stop’s location relative to various facilities within the community.
On average, we aim to build between three and five, new or upgraded shelters every year.
The timing for new shelter projects may be influenced by factors like big road projects or large developments in Manningham.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Council Meetings
We have recently reviewed our Council meeting practices to ensure we provide a safe environment for Councillors, staff and the community at meetings. We are pleased to advise that members of the public can now attend Council meetings in person. Meetings will proceed in the Council Chamber with the appropriate physical distancing requirements to minimise potential transmission of COVID-19. Council meetings will continue to be live streamed and we encourage you to follow the meeting on our Facebook page or our website. The live stream is not interactive. Any comments or private messages directed to us while the stream is live will not be presented to Council or have a bearing on the conduct of the meeting.
Other temporary changes to our Council meetings:
- Public Question Time – At this time, anyone wanting to ask a question of Council should submit their question via email by 5.00pm on the Monday before the meeting. You will have the opportunity to attend the meeting and read out your question or you can have your question read out by our CEO. Public Question Time form.

Mossdale Reserve is a reasonably large (0.5 hectare) and well located reserve next door to a shop, bus stop and is within the catchment area of two nearby primary schools and a retirement village. It also provides pedestrian access between Chippendale Court and Mossdale Court.
Children will enjoy a multi-age play unit with slide,a triple swing set, a rotating see-saw, junior monkey bars, two picnic tables, a range of seating options, drinking fountain and rock and log edging.
A path connecting Mossdale Court and Birchgrove Crescent to Chippendale Court is being added to allow easier access for prams and general movement through the reserve. There is also a picnic table and a milk bar next door.

As part of our efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 we have reviewed our Council meeting practices to ensure we provide a safe environment for Councillors, staff and the community. This Council meeting will proceed in the Council Chamber adhering to our COVID-Safe Plan to minimise potential transmission of COVID-19.
Physical attendance by members of the public at Council meetings is currently not permitted. The MCH line is a 24 hour, 7 day telephone service supporting all Victoria Families with children from birth to school. Families can speak to a Maternal and Child Health nurse for advice and support on 132 229.

Relationships Australia in partnership with Manningham Council are running free parenting groups for dads in Manningham with children aged under one.
INFANT program
INFANT is an evidence-based initiative led by our local Manningham Maternal and child Health team and Access Health and Community. It includes four interactive sessions at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months of age. INFANT sessions cover topics such as introducing solids, food refusal and fussy eating, tummy time, active play ideas and the role that parent wellbeing plays in your baby’s life.

The immunisation team provide immunisations for babies, children and adults to keep our community safe and prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

Manningham Council does not manage a central enrolment service. To enrol your child, contact the enrolment officer at the kindergarten or childcare centre of your choice .
