The expert panel will be addressing key topics relating to healthy ageing, and what it means to be Healthy, Happy and Wise.

Held in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) 2025, this event highlights the importance of elder rights, ageism prevention, and a safe, respectful community for all.

We are holding a home insurance workshop with Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC), a multidisciplinary legal service that works to prevent problems and support community resilience.

The session will cover important topics including:

  • having an up-to-date insurance policy  
  • the right insurance amount for your home and contents
  • what to look out for in your existing insurance policy.

Participants are encouraged to bring insurance policy documents for personal reference during the session.

It's free to register but bookings are essential. 

Please note: this repeat session of the Home Insurance workshop will be held in Mandarin.

Their powerful responses are shown alongside the remarkable creative achievements of former and current prison inmates, many of whom have connected with their culture and Country through The Torch program, such as Thelma Beeton, Stacey Edwards, Robby Wirramanda and Sean Miller.

The exhibition is showing until 20 July 2025 in the Heide Main Galleries.

You will gain knowledge in:

  • strategies for living positively with dementia including support
  • the management, reduction and/or prevention of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.


Suitable for people living with dementia and their family carers and family members. This program is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors.

Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. This program is delivered interactively - you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants, giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

As part of our efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 we have reviewed our Council meeting practices to ensure we provide a safe environment for Councillors, staff and the community. Pursuant to the Local Government Act 2020, Council meetings will be held virtually until further notice.  Physical attendance by members of the public at Council meetings is currently not permitted. Council meetings will continue to be live streamed and we encourage you to follow the meeting on our Facebook page (you can view the livestream on our Facebook page even if you don’t have a Facebook account). The live stream is not interactive. Any comments or private messages directed to us while the stream is live will not be presented to Council or have a bearing on the conduct of the meeting.

Other temporary changes to our Council meetings:

Public Question Time – At this time, anyone wanting to ask a question of Council should submit their question via email by 5.00pm on the Monday before the meeting.
