It's important to keep building and maintaining our muscle strength as we age, so we can keep doing all the things we want to. In this 30-minute dumbbell exercise class, Carol will take you through a fun series of upper and lower body seated strength exercises to help you stay strong at home. 

This class is aimed at anyone who wants to improve their health and boost energy levels. It includes time to chat with Carol before and after class if you want to talk about your personal fitness goals and how Third Age Fitness can help you.

We welcome patchworkers, quilters and other creatives working with textiles.

The MannaCare Memory Place Cafe has been established to provide an opportunity for people with a dementia diagnosis and their carers to connect with others who are travelling a similar road. 

The cafe provides a relaxed, safe and supportive environment for people with a dementia diagnosis and their carers to enjoy time together.

Memory Place Cafe is open on the second Thursday of every month.

The Red Gum Café located in the Manningham Uniting Church and Community Centre, has now been accredited by Dementia Australia as being Dementia Friendly. 

The Red Gum Café has been established as an accessible and safe environment for people living with dementia, and their carers and families, with staff having successfully undertaken training to help people living with dementia to enjoy social and community connections. 

The café is open Tuesday to Friday, 9.00am to 3.30pm, and on Saturdays from 9.00am to 2.00pm.

A support group for carers assisting people living with dementia currently meets in the café on the first Friday of every month, at 1.30pm.

Please note: The Friday group is established and no new participants will be added. New additional meeting days and times will be arranged for those wanting to attend and connect.

Carers Saturday cuppa and chat is a chance for all people who are currently caring for people with disability, illness, mental health issues and/or ageing to reconnect and find support over a free cuppa.

The session will be facilitated by Dr Nakisa Malakooti.  Dr Malakooti is a carer and a neuroscientist and has lived at Manningham for the last 27 years. She is a strong advocate for carers, disability, mental health and dementia patients.

Let's Crochet Together offers senior residents of Manningham an enjoyable and practical crochet session, with a special focus on those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Participants will not only acquire basic crochet skills, but also have the opportunity to build new community connections. 

Refreshments will be provided, and each participant will receive a complimentary crochet kit. 

Please note: this event will be conducted in Cantonese.

This event is free of charge for older adults aged 65 and above from Manningham. Spots are limited and fill up quickly, registrations essential.

Walking football is specifically designed for people over 50. 

It is a social, small-sided, and sustainable version of football played by people worldwide. It is the slower paced version of the beautiful game and the rules have been adjusted to make it social, safe and fun.

No bookings required - just turn up.

Walking Basketball is great for participants across all ages, genders and abilities. The program is particularly valuable for seniors or those returning to activity after illness, injury or surgery.

The sessions are low-impact and focus on gentle movement, judgement-free exercise, moving at your own pace and having a laugh along the way.

Sessions are 10.00am to 11.00am on Thursdays at Bulleen Basketball Stadium White court. Morning tea is provided after each session.

The sessions are free, but participants need to register.
