Join us for Italian stories and rhymes to support families with young children who wish to maintain a family language or learn an additional language.

Storytime sessions support literacy development, social skills and group learning, all while exploring health and wellbeing themes.

Who: For children aged one to five years.

When: Every second Tuesday of the month during school terms at Bulleen Library. Every fourth Tuesday of the month at a local community venue. 

Cost: Sessions are free to attend, and no registrations or library membership are required.

The Italian Storytime session is a part of the Government Multicultural Storytime grant which will help our local libraries deliver Storytime programs for babies and young children in Arabic and Italian in Manningham.

Bulleen Park is a significant area next to the Yarra River providing a combination of sport and recreation opportunities and high quality bushland reserve. Active sport activities include football, soccer, cricket, archery and aeromodellers.  

Other recreation opportunities include a range of challenging play opportunities for all ages, walking trails, picnic and barbecue facilities and the Bolin Bolin Cultural Heritage Precinct.

Bulleen park playground

Located by the Yarra River at the back of Bulleen Park, this playground provides excellent play opportunities for all ages with interesting and engaging climbing equipment, slides, spinners, rockers, a see-saw and an ever-popular basket swing. There are also picnic tables and barbecues, making this is an ideal place for social gatherings. Bring your bikes and explore the surrounds along the shared path.

Public toilets are located 300 metres away at the archery field.

Facilities for hire

Bulleen park has a range of soccer and cricket pitches as well as aeromodeller and archery fields available for hire.

Bulleen Cricket Club is excited to host a Women’s Come and Try Evening, inviting female cricketers aged 12 and older, of all abilities and experience levels, to get involved in our welcoming and supportive community. 

The session will be a fun and relaxed introduction to cricket, offering participants the chance to learn new skills, meet new people, and experience the enjoyment of being part of a team.

Qualified coaches and current players will run engaging activities designed for beginners as well as those with some cricket experience. All equipment will be provided, and participants simply need to bring their enthusiasm. The evening is a fantastic opportunity for women and girls to connect, stay active, and see what community cricket at Bulleen is all about.

We encourage anyone interested in trying cricket, returning to the game, or simply seeking a new way to get active and meet people to come along. Everyone is welcome, and no prior experience is necessary.

That’s why Manningham Council has partnered with Solar Savers, a local government initiative that takes the hassle out of home energy upgrades. The Council-backed program has now expanded to offer more suppliers and product choices, as well as home energy assessments for personalised advice.

Do you have questions about making your home more comfortable and efficient? Keen to install solar, batteries or efficient electric appliances? Drop in to learn more.

Join us at your local library for a session between August and October 2025. 

Registration is not required. Drop in any time during the 1-hour session.
