Connecting our community through safe footpaths is one of the ways we’re building a better Manningham.

As part of our 2024/25 Capital Works Program, we’re constructing a new footpath connection on Carbine Street, Donvale, to improve accessibility and safety.

Works will include:

  • construction of a new concrete footpath.

Where is it?

The footpath will be built on the eastern side of Carbine Street, between Butterfly Gardens and Leslie Street in Donvale.

A map showing the location of the proposed footpath construction along Carbine Street, Donvale

When will the works happen?

The project schedule will be confirmed after the contractor is engaged.

Why is the footpath needed?

The new footpath will connect the existing footpaths on Leslie Street, improving pedestrian connectivity, as well as safety and accessibility around the car park. The upgrade will provide a safe and accessible walking route to encourage healthier, more active lifestyles.

How will the works affect me?

The works will take place on weekdays during the hours of 7.00am and 5.00pm. There may be some construction noise and temporary disruptions to driveway access. We will contact the affected properties directly prior to construction.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to improve the footpath connections in your area.

For over 150 years, Longridge farm was grazed by cattle. Now, under Parks Victoria management, it is recovering with plant regeneration and the return of wildlife.

The ridge offers spectacular views to the north, and the rapids are some of the prettiest on the Yarra.

Harris Gully Reserve
… of Andersons Creek.  It contains remnant vegetation and its main functions are conservation and drainage.   Harris Gully Road Warrandyte VIC 3113 …

Harris Gully Reserve is a small linear park alongside Harris Gully Road that is a tributary of Andersons Creek.  It contains remnant vegetation and its main functions are conservation and drainage.

A concept plan included recommendations for weed management, revegetation and new fencing.

Local residents have been encouraging natural regeneration and undertaking weed management for nearly 30 years. The reserve has an informal path beside Harris Gully Road that provides safe pedestrian access to students of Andersons Creek Primary School and is part of the horse route along Harris Gully Road connecting Reynolds Road to Gold Memorial Road.

Road and drainage upgrade: Oban Road, Ringwood North and Donvale

Article Content

Updated: 22 January 2025

Improving the quality of our roads and stormwater drainage systems are some of the ways we’re building a better Manningham.

We're upgrading Oban Road in Ringwood North and Donvale to improve road and footpath safety and reduce flood risk.

Where is it?

This project will be delivered in two stages.

Stage one

Construction will occur along Oban Road, between property 321 and the Glenvale Road intersection, Ringwood North.

  • stabilisation of the existing to improve pavement resilience
  • localised pavement widening
  • maintenance improvements to the existing kerb and channel
  • new asphalt surface
  • additional minor asphalt works along Beckett Road

Stage two

Construction will occur along Oban Road, between Glenvale Road and Smedley Road, Donvale.

  • installation of underground stormwater drainage
  • kerb and channel
  • road widening in some sections
  • weed removal
  • new asphalt surface
  • footpath upgrades, between Barnsdale and Smedley roads.

This project will be delivered under our 2024/25 Capital Works Program.

Why is it needed?

These works will deliver significant safety and environmental benefits.

Improvements include resurfacing the road to reduce potholes, rutting, and cracking, ensuring smoother and safer travel. Widening certain sections will provide sufficient space for vehicles to pass safely, minimising the risk of accidents.

Installing underground drainage will effectively manage stormwater, reduce flood risks, and prevent road damage. Additionally, removing weeds will promote native biodiversity by controlling invasive species and supporting the local ecosystem.

When will the works happen?

  • Stage one works will begin in early to mid-2025.
  • Stage two works will begin after the stage one works, later in 2025.

These schedules are subject to weather conditions and third party approvals.

How will the works affect me?

Works will occur between 7.00am and 5.00pm on weekdays and 9.00am and 3.00pm on Saturdays.

During these times, you may notice:

  • construction noise
  • minor traffic delays
  • road closures with access granted to local residents
  • reduced on street parking
  • temporary disruptions to driveway access – we will contact affected properties directly.

Please follow the directions of staff and signs to move safely around the area.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to improve the drainage in your area.

Penderel Reserve is a large reserve linking Penderel Court, Bessa Court and Jumping Creek Road.

The reserve is valued for its ecology, remnant vegetation and significant recreational opportunities due to its size and road connections. The western end of the reserve is within the Clifford Park/ Bend of Isles Biosite 2 and is considered a very high priority in Council’s Healthy Habitats Bushland Management Strategy 2012. The open space and bushland area at the Penderel Court end is suitable for unstructured bush play activities.

Updated: 9 April 2025

Connecting our community through safe footpaths is one of the ways we’re building a better Manningham.

As part of our 2024/25 Capital Works Program, we’re constructing a new footpath connection on Banool Quadrant, Doncaster East, to improve pedestrian accessibility and safety.

Works will include:

  • constructing a new 1.5 metre wide footpath.

Where is it?

The footpath will be built on:

  • both sides of the road, between properties 2 and 24 Banool Quadrant.
  • beside properties 1-3 Woorarra Avenue to connect the existing footpaths.
  • beside properties 6 and 8 Bambra Court.

When will the works happen?

We plan to begin the works in late April 2025 and are expected to take approximately six weeks, subject to weather and soil conditions. Workers will be on site between 7.00am and 5.00pm on weekdays.

Why is the footpath needed?

This footpath will connect the existing footpaths on Banool Quadrant, improving pedestrian connectivity, safety and accessibility for pedestrians travelling to Woodhouse Road. The footpath will provide a safe and accessible walking route to encourage healthier, more active lifestyles.

How will the works affect me?

During construction, you may notice:

  • minor delays to driveway access - we’ll contact you at least 48 hours before any work impacting your driveway.
  • construction noise and dust.
  • reduced on street parking in the area.
  • minor traffic disruptions
  • a single lane closure - please follow the direction of signs and staff.

Please note:

  • Your bin collection will be unaffected by the works.
  • Emergency service vehicles will always have access to all properties.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to improve the footpath connections in your area.

Questions?

If you have any questions about these works or our footpaths program, contact us.
