As part of International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), we are proudly presenting Community Webinar: Neurodivergence Awareness and Employment.

This webinar aims to raise awareness and understanding of neurodivergence (hidden disability), and to explore pathways to inclusive employment.

The webinar is being developed in direct response to community needs and priorities identified through multiple sources, such as consultation.

• Dr. Shae Wissell, Founder of Rethink Dyslexia and advocate for neurodivergent inclusion
• Dr. Peter Smith, Director at the Centre for Disability Employment Research and Practice

The event is led by the Social Planning and Community Strengthening Team (SPCS) at Manningham Council.

The great people at the Greythorn Bowls Club are huge supporters of Live Music in Manningham and many are fellow music folk, so we're in great hands.

On Thursday 6 November they are hosting an Open Mic Night and we thought it would be a great chance for us all to gather together, maybe play a tune or two?

As a part of the Live and Local program with Manningham Council these meet ups are an opportunity for us to connect as a community and shape the Live and Local Program and the future of Live Music in Manningham.

With music by Jason Whatt and direction by Beth Mondragon Williams, this is a story of love and mayhem when two bachelor residents of Sunnyside Retirement Village are captivated by a new female occupant.

Hosted by Manningham Council and delivered by Leisure Networks.

Carers Saturday cuppa and chat is a chance for all people who are currently caring for people with disability and mental health to reconnect and find support over a free cuppa.

The session will be facilitated by Dr Nakisa Malakooti.  Dr Malakooti is a carer and a neuroscientist and has lived at Manningham for the last 27 years. She is a strong advocate for carers, disability, mental health and those with dementia.

The Florentine Muse: Echoes of the Medici in the courts of Europe.

Join the Courtly Arts Performers as we seek out traces of the Medici in music and dances from the early Renaissance to the Baroque. Enjoy our court costumes, period instruments, and meticulously researched choreographies.

Discover how to get the most out of the outdoor fitness equipment at wonguim wilam. 

This hands-on demonstration will show you safe and simple ways to use the equipment, with exercises suitable for all fitness levels. 

It’s a great opportunity to learn new moves, build confidence, and enjoy exercising outdoors.

All ages, genders and abilities are welcome to attend.

Sessions will be delivered by Active Manningham staff.

Bus route 906 (SmartBus, City–Warrandyte) is your most direct option:

• Departs from St Vincent’s Hospital/Victoria Parade or central city locations every 30 minutes.
• Arrives at Warrandyte Bridge / Yarra Street, just a short walk from the destination.

These workshops are led by experienced instructors to create a fun environment that involves games with a social focus.

During an All Aboard session, children and young people build confidence by learning about skate skill development, injury prevention, skate park etiquette and equipment maintenance.

Each session generally runs for an hour and can accommodate up to 25 people at a time, from beginners to intermediates.

All genders and all abilities are welcome to participate. 

Skateboards, helmets and padding provided.

However, If you have your own equipment, you are welcomed to bring this along to use. 

These workshops are made possible thanks to YMCA Action Sports and Victorian Skateboard Association.
