Stiggant Reserve is a riverside reserve with a playspace, event space, picnic areas and walking trails.

Stiggant Reserve is popular with walkers, picnics and major events, such as the Warrandyte Riverside Market and the Warrandyte Festival. There is also Warrandyte Scout Hall and a stage.

All amenities are available at the reserve, creating an ideal meeting place for large barbecue and picnic gatherings. Play opportunities include double slide unit with fire pole, a pendulum swing, junior climber, market stall and horse rocker.

Another playground option is wonguim wilam playspace which is just a fun five minute walk along the riverside track.

Getting there 

Stiggant Reserve is located on Yarra Street. There is pedestrian access via Stiggant Street and Police Street. 

There is off street parking available on Stiggant Street.

There is also a bus stop for the 364, 578, 579 and 906 outside 31 Yarra Street or the Warrandyte Medical Centre.

Templestowe Reserve Playground

The playground (upgraded in 2012) includes a swing set, hammock swing, spinner, rocker and a combination unit with two slides and lots of fun climbing opportunities. The basketball and netball half court is located on top of underground rainwater tanks that collect storm water to irrigate the sports oval.

Mossdale Reserve is a reasonably large (0.5 hectare) and well located reserve next door to a shop, bus stop and is within the catchment area of two nearby primary schools and a retirement village. It also provides pedestrian access between Chippendale Court and Mossdale Court.

Children will enjoy the swings, slide, squeeze bars, rocker and climbing challenges at Mossdale Reserve playground. There is also a picnic table and a milk bar next door.
 

Mossdale Reserve playspace upgrade

We're upgrading the playspace at Mossdale Reserve in Templestowe.

The project is part of our Parks Improvement Program and will be delivered under our 2024/25 Open Space Capital Works Program.

The concept plan proposal works include:

  • new play equipment including a multi-age play unit with slide
  • a triple swing set
  • a rotating see-saw
  • junior monkey bars
  • two picnic tables
  • a range of seating options
  • an upgraded drinking fountain
  • rock and log edging.

A path connecting Mossdale Court and Birchgrove Crescent to Chippendale Court is being added to allow easier access for prams and general movement through the reserve.

Playspace consultation update

Consultation for the Mossdale Reserve playspace concept design closed on Friday 10 May 2024.

We are currently reviewing the feedback we received and will report back on the consultation outcomes in late June 2024.

The neighbourhood is well provided with open space and play opportunities and future planning of play should ensure Larnaca complements and does not duplicate nearby reserves at Browning and Apple Blossom Reserves. There is a history of community involvement with tree planting and garden maintenance within the Reserve.
