Murndal Reserve is a large 0.97 hectare open undeveloped reserve in a low density residential area. The reserve slopes steeply to a drain along the eastern boundary and adjoins VicRoads owned Eastern Freeway Open Space on the southern boundary.

This reserve has the potential to provide a link for local residents between Warrock Avenue and Murndal Drive and to the Mullum Mullum Linear Park via the EastLink Trail, but the 13 metre level difference between the Trail and Murndal Reserve could only be achieved with steps.

Located on the corner of Wallmah Close and Wood Street, Wallmah Reserve is prominently located, with a group of large Pine trees defining its landscape character.  Given the topography and table drain on Wood Street, the accessibility of the Reserve is quite limited.

Ruffey Creek Linear Park is located 100 metres away to the west. Wombat Bend playspace is located 500 metres away to the north-west, while the proposed Swilk Reserve playspace will be located 400 metres away to the south-east.

This reserve has very low priority for further development.  Improved accessibility and landscape management are the key actions.  A more substantial upgrade may wait until the Pine trees have reached the end of their useful life.

A terrible water shortage has crippled the Gotham-like town that serves as the setting for Urinetown.

In a mad attempt to regulate water consumption, the government has outlawed the use of private toilets. The citizenry must use public, pay-for-use amenities owned and operated by the corrupt and iron-fisted Caldwell B. Cladwell. The privilege to pee is expensive, draining and dangerous. Anyone who refuses to pay to pee is immediately and without question hauled off to Urinetown.

What is Urinetown? Nobody knows, for those who are sent there are never heard from again. But it's really a love story and there's a revolution all before the end of Act I. Will the revolution succeed? Can true love be found in Urinetown? All these questions and more are answered in Urinetown.

Improving drainage and flood mitigation is one of the ways we’re building a better Manningham. 

We’re seeking community feedback on the proposed project until 5 December 2024. To provide your feedback, visit Your Say Manningham. 

We’re upgrading the drainage system along Mitchell Avenue, Warrandyte to improve stormwater management and reduce flood risk.

The project will involve:

  • installing underground drainage 
  • replanting trees and vegetation.
     

This project will be delivered as part of our 2024/25 Capital Works Program.
 

Where are the works?

This system will be installed on both sides of Mitchell Avenue, Warrandyte, up to Yarra Street.

When will the works happen?

This drainage upgrade is part of our 2024/25 Capital Works Program. Construction dates will be confirmed once the contractor has been engaged.
 

Why are the works needed?

This upgrade will improve stormwater management by installing a new system to prevent flooding, reduce water pooling, and minimise erosion. This will ensure a safer and more resilient environment for our community.

 

How will the works affect me?

The works will take place on weekdays during the hours of 7.00am and 5.00pm. There will be some construction noise and minor traffic delays during these hours.

Construction will require a single lane road closure. We will have traffic management and signage on site to guide you through the area.
