It has been an incredibly emotional time since the tragic bus collision in the Hunter Valley. Many people from our beautiful town of Warrandyte were impacted, and we were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Darcy Bulman – a much loved member of the Warrandyte community. The Councillors and staff here at Manningham continue to send our deepest condolences to Darcy’s partner Nick, her family and many friends. 

Our thoughts also go out to the bride and groom, Mitchell Gaffney and Maddy Edsell. Such a special day ending in such tragic circumstances is unimaginable. 

We welcome the State Government’s announcement of up to $580,000 to support Darcy’s family as well as others directly affected by this incident, including their family members. Support and counselling will also be provided to the Warrandyte Cricket Club and extended community. We will work closely with the State Government to understand how we can best support the community during this distressing time. 

Based on the latest information, we understand those who were injured are all making positive steps towards recovery. However, we know trauma recovery takes a long time so there will continue to be challenging times ahead. 

The Warrandyte Cricket Club has asked for privacy as they focus on their members health and recovery. They have been overwhelmed by offers of support and they are extremely grateful for the community’s generosity.
