Council undertakes a risk based approached to the annual FHIP, This involves inspection of privately-owned properties across the municipality.
Our Municipal Fire Prevention Officers will inspect properties in the lead up and during the Fire Danger Period to check if there are fire hazards that need to be addressed on private land. The Fire Danger Period is declared by the CFA, based on amount of rain, grassland curing rate and other local conditions.
There are many options available to you in order to maintain your property all year round and remove garden waste to prepare for bushfire season
- book into one of our Garden Waste Disposal Days
- order an additional garden waste bin for spring
- book a bundled branches collection
- take it to a local transfer station.
Properties most likely to be inspected
