Art is back in abundance in Manningham this autumn. This month, we open a new gallery exhibition, riverside installation and pop up public art project for you to enjoy.

Manningham Art Gallery

Pillars of Déplacement by prominent Australian artist Paul Handley is now showing at Manningham Art Gallery until mid-May. Paul Handley’s work follows the experience of displacement and the ramifications on communities and countries.

All are welcome to attend the official exhibition opening this Saturday 17 April at 2.00pm. Paul Handley will also host a floor talk on Thursday 22 April at 11.00am, together with a workshop for youth, Portable Protest Pod, on Saturday 1 May at 3.30pm.

Art along the Warrandyte riverside

Until Wednesday 2 May, the riverbank along the Yarra River in Warrandyte will feature a public art installation, Sanctuary by Lindy Yeates.

The first project to come from Arts Manningham FAIR (Fellowship and Arts in Residence) fellowship program, the artwork is inspired by the COVID experience and explores moments of pause.

Submissions for the next round of Arts Manningham FAIR are now open until 30 May.

Pop-Up art at Jackson Court

Jackson Court Pop-Up Park is also playing host to temporary public art installations, including native flora decals and murals developed by artist Abbey Rich, and the Magnificent Flutter – a kaleidoscope of butterflies – by artists Skunk Control.

So why not venture out and experience some new art this month. Find out more about our current and upcoming exhibitions.
