Get involved in this special free two-part textile workshop at Manningham Art Gallery with visual artist Shannon Slee.
These workshops are for participants 55 years upwards.
Workshop 1: Unpicking Time
- Monday 17 November
- 10:00am – 12:00pm
Bring an item of clothing that holds a memory. We’ll record and share that memory together and then you will be invited to unpick the item of clothing. You can then leave some of it or all of it for Shannon to stitch together with other people’s items.
Workshop 2: Stitching Together
- Monday 24 November
- 10:00am – 12:00pm
Come back to the gallery and help finish the artwork that Shannon has created from everyone’s items. Use a simple running stitch and coloured embroidery thread to leave your own unique stitching impression. Through this activity we will talk about how people make connections across time and how textiles in art can help form and record the connections.
Bookings are required as places are limited. Please book via Eventbrite.
Participants are required to attend both workshops.
