Join Melbourne Water Platypus Education Officer, Madeline Taylor, and Manningham Waterwatch Coordinator, Nigel Philpot, for an early morning walk along the Birrarung (Yarra River) at Finns Reserve, a platypus sighting hotspot.
Learn about these unique and vulnerable creatures in their natural habitat.
It will be an easy 2km stroll that suits all ages, including young children. Participants will cross a foot suspension bridge over the Yarra and finish at the Wombat Bend play spaces, making it a fun morning for families.
Details:
- Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time.
- Bring binoculars and a water bottle.
- Wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes.
- The walk is rated easy. The short walk around Finns Reserve includes a crossing of a foot suspension bridge over the Yarra River.
- Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
- Breakfast will be served after the walk.
