We express our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Egon Cyganek, the founder of Egons Cake Shop. 

Mr Cyganek and his wife Karin founded the bakery in 1971, but he leaves a legacy that extends far beyond the renowned cakes, pastries and bread.

He enriched our community through the much-loved Melbourne institution, providing countless employment opportunities and valuable economic activity. 

We thank him for the contributions he made to Manningham for over half a century.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, the staff and customers of Egons Cake Shop, and the wider Manningham community.
