Local not-for-profit community organisation Pines Learning is offering two free courses in October and November, including one that aims to assist those looking for work and to learn new skills.

The second free course will help adults with a medium to high functioning intellectual disabilities to navigate cyber safety and online bullying.

Free Skills to Apply for Work – Five week course

Are you looking for work? Become empowered to maximise your chances of finding employment. The course will cover where to look for work, online applications, resume writing, cover letters, tips for how to present well and telephone, online and face to face interview skills.  

This course starts on Friday 30 October, 9.15am to 11.45am, and will take place online. This course is sponsored by the Bendigo Bank.

All Abilities Workshop: Cyber Safety for Mobile Phone and Facebook

For adults with a medium to high functioning intellectual disability, these one-session workshops develop strategies to address cyber bullying, privacy, predators, scams and fraud.  

The first workshop will take place on Saturday 17 October from 10.00am to 2.00pm and be held online, while the second workshop will take place on Saturday 14 November from 10.00am to 2.00pm, with the plan to conduct this session onsite – dependent on COVID 19 restrictions. This course will be sponsored by State Trustees.
