Hoping to break past records, this year’s Monster Community Raffle (Permit Number 10024/18) aims to raise more than $30,000 towards helping disadvantaged residents across Manningham. 

Administered by the Kiwanis Club of Manningham, Manningham Council is encouraging all Manningham-based community organisations, schools and sporting clubs to sign up and get involved in this year’s raffle. 

Manningham Council Mayor Cr Andrew Conlon said Council was proud to be involved in the raffle, which helped raise money to support not-for-profit organisations in Manningham. 

“Last year’s community raffle saw more than $27,000 raised for not-for-profit organisations in Manningham and the Manningham Charitable Fund” he said. 

“This was a great outcome with the money funding services provided by community organisations and charities in our community.”

For every $2 ticket sold, $1.50 remains with the community group, who sold the ticket. The remaining 50 cents goes towards the Manningham Charitable Fund and is distributed to charities that support disadvantaged residents in Manningham. 

Kiwanis Club of Manningham President Br Sean Keefe OAM said the Kiwanis Club’s defining purpose was to improve the world, one community at a time.

“We see it as an honour to be involved and give back to the community,” he said.  

“We’re asking the greater Manningham community to join us and help sell these tickets. By working together, we can achieve more than what one person can achieve alone.”  

Ten thousand dollars’ worth of prizes will be drawn at the Manningham Civic Awards Gala event on Wednesday, 23 May.
