I hope this edition of Manningham Matters finds you safe and well as we all head into the busy festive season.

This is a wonderful time for us to connect with family and friends who we may not have seen much during this unusual year. I hope you take the chance to venture out and about in Manningham to support our local cafes, restaurants and businesses as you do your Christmas shopping.

There’s plenty of things to enjoy locally this summer, including at Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre. Read our story to find out more about what school holiday programs they are running in January.

You may have noticed the Pop-Up Parks and Dining spaces that have appeared around Manningham. These are proving to be popular gathering points for our community and our Jackson Court temporary park has some fabulous Christmas entertainment for you to enjoy.

To help you plan your year ahead, our 2021 Community Calendar is now available for you to request a copy – or several copies for your community, club or organisation. Just fill in this form online or call us on 9840 9333.

We have enjoyed bringing you the latest news from Council and around our community this year in this Manningham Matters e-news. Please take our short survey to tell us what you have enjoyed and how we can improve the publication.

At this time of year we have the opportunity to help families in our community who are experiencing hardship and who might have been doing it extra tough this year; find out how you can make a donation or volunteer.

It’s been an inspiration to see our community come together this year to support each other. It’s been wonderful to see so many new initiatives and ideas this year and we hope this innovative community spirit can continue to inspire us all into 2021.

On behalf of my fellow Councillors and everyone at Manningham Council, I hope you have time over this season to reflect on things that we can be grateful for and that your household will experience peace and contentment as we celebrate Christmas and the New Year.
