Manningham is calling on the community to help recognise its volunteers, by nominating a volunteer to receive one of 1000, $50 gift vouchers to spend locally before Christmas.
From 1 November to 15 December, businesses, schools and not-for-profit community clubs and organisations are encouraged to nominate local volunteers who have gone above and beyond their duties in helping others in our community.
Manningham Mayor Cr Andrew Conlon said Council wanted to recognise the contributions of volunteers in our community by giving them a gift voucher to spend and benefit local businesses.
“Volunteers are often quiet achievers who work behind the scenes to build a stronger and more caring community,” he said.
“We don’t often hear about them so we want our community to help call them out and recognise them for their efforts.”
To nominate a volunteer:
- Visit manningham.vic.gov.au/volunteer-recognition-nomination-form to enter their details and the volunteering organisation
- tell us in 100 words or less, why this volunteer should be recognised for their contributions to Manningham.
All valid nominations will receive one $50 gift voucher to spend in Manningham-based businesses, shops and restaurants, until the voucher pool of 1,000 is fully allocated.
“We have developed a reward strategy that not only recognises our volunteers but also benefits the local community,” Cr Conlon said.
