UPDATED: Friday 28 April 2023
We’ve developed a draft masterplan for the outdoor pool space at Aquarena. Community feedback on this project is so important. We want this space to be designed by the community, for the community.
We’re seeking expressions of interest to join a two-hour community focus group to discuss the proposed changes. The focus groups will be held in early May 2023.
Focus group participants will receive a beverage and free pass to Aquarena. Existing Aquarena members will recieve a guest pass and beverage
Background to the Master Plan
Following community consultation undertaken in October 2021, a Draft Masterplan was created and is now available for your review and feedback.
We want to use the results from a recent survey (undertaken on site at Aquarena during February and March 2023) and the input from participants in these focus groups to ensure that the final Masterplan adequately reflects the views of our community.
Who will be part of the focus groups?
Each focus group will be composed of 20 participants. Particular attention will be paid to ensure that the focus groups are diverse and representative of Manningham’s population (gender and age group) and that non-users are also present.
Focus group facilitators will provide guidance and information to the participants to ensure they are able to give informed feedback.
Who can apply?
We are aiming for a diverse mix of demographic representation, and we welcome and proactively support:
- residents of Manningham
- First Nations Peoples
- multicultural and multi-faith communities
- all genders and sexualities
- adults of all ages
- parents, guardians and carers.
What commitment is required to be part of the focus groups?
You’ll join us for one of our two-hour focus group sessions at Aquarena. We have two dates to choose from:
- Sunday 7 May 2.00pm to 4.00pm
- Monday 8 May 7.00pm to 9.00pm
Apply online
Applications are now closed.
Selection process
We aim for a balance between genders and age groups, but we will also focus on ensuring the representation of multicultural and multi-faith communities. We also want to hear from non-users.
What happens next
Applications will be assessed according to the selection criteria. All shortlisted applicants will be contacted to confirm participation in the following weeks.
