Each year we get together with a range of agencies to test the way we manage emergencies. Late last year, members of our community were involved in a simulated exercise to provide us with some valuable insights into their needs during an emergency.
Held in November, the exercise involved members from a range of agencies, organisations and our community who came together to discuss emergency arrangements and procedures. The exercise included the following authorities:
- Victoria Police
- Ambulance Victoria
- Country Fire Authority (CFA)
- Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB)
- State Emergency Service (SES)
- Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
The exercise was based on a simulated emergency incident occurring at a local shopping centre. Victoria Police provided the scenario and briefings throughout the day.
Insights from the exercise will help us to update and improve our response plans for emergencies that may occur in Manningham.
