Shutterbugs across the community will get a chance to have their work go down in history as Manningham launches its 2018 photo competition.
This year’s theme, Active in Manningham, encourages people to get out and about, capturing and sharing the best images of getting active in our community, and a chance to win more than $2,000 in prizes.
Manningham Mayor Cr Andrew Conlon said last year’s competition was a great success and this year’s theme encouraged people to get out and share our community’s way of life through photography.
“The competition aims to collect a body of photographic works that represents the visual identity of Manningham,” he said.
“Walking your dog, playing sports, volunteering or visiting weekend markets are all great examples of being active in our community.”
People can enter into three categories, primary school, secondary school and an open category for both amateur/hobby and professional photographers.
A panel of judges will select and award a $500 Visa gift card to the winner of each category.
A shortlist of entries will be made available on Council’s website from 28 May to 4 June, for the community to vote for the People’s Choice award, with a $1,000 Visa gift card up for grabs. Winners will be announced on 13 June.
The top entrants will be included in the 2019 Manningham Community Calendar and other council publications.
Each entrant can submit up to six photos before the competition closes at 5.00pm on 16 May.
