Manningham Council is offering people who live and play locally the exciting opportunity to provide advice on improving community recreation and sport.
Council is seeking expressions of interest for a new advisory panel, the Recreation and Sport Advisory Committee.
The new committee provides an opportunity for members to share their experiences to support sport and recreation outcomes, and deliver on actions from the Active for Life Recreation Strategy 2010-25.
The community, Councillors and senior Manningham Council officers will be represented on the committee, with the community undertaking an advisory role, rather than decision making responsibilities.
Manningham Mayor, Cr Michelle Kleinert said: “This is great chance to work alongside Council, share your experiences and provide broader input into how recreation and sport can improve our daily lives.
“Whether you enjoy a stroll through the park, a bike ride with the kids or footy on the weekend, we would love to hear from you.”
Online applications are now open via the Recreation and Sport Advisory Committee: Expression of Interest Form. Terms of Reference are also published on the Manningham Council website.
Hardcopy forms are available for collection upon request and anyone wishing to complete their application over the phone or learn more about the process can contact Manningham Council’s customer service team on 03) 9840 9333 or email: manningham@manningham.vic.gov.au
Expressions of interest close on Wednesday 5 October.
