Fifty years ago, in 1969, our community was busy establishing new schools, community groups, sports clubs and more. As a result, this year has seen many local schools, clubs, community groups and organisations celebrate their 50th birthdays.
The 1960s was a time of growth for Manningham with many young families moving into the area. Then in 1967 the Shire of Doncaster and Templestowe was officially proclaimed a City.
Some of the 50th celebrations our Mayor has been part of this year include:
- Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre
- Bulleen Boomers, Bulleen-Templestowe Basketball Club
- Bulleen Templestowe Cricket Club
- Doncare
- Doncaster Secondary College
- Onemda
- Park Orchards Sharks Football Club
- Templestowe Junior Football Club
- Templestowe Valley Primary School
- Yarraleen Cricket Club
Fifty years is an incredible milestone and certainly one to celebrate. Congratulations to all Manningham groups celebrating their 50th in 2019.
