Manningham Council, together with the YMCA Manningham (MYMCA), is now calling for expressions of interest (EOI) from sporting clubs and community groups interested in using Manningham’s premier new sporting facility, Mullum Mullum Stadium in Donvale.
The purpose-built, stadium will include five multi-use indoor sports courts catering for a wide variety of sports including badminton, basketball, futsal (indoor soccer), netball, table tennis, volleyball and more.
Manningham Mayor, Cr Michelle Kleinert, said the stadium is set to become a premier new sporting facility for Manningham and the region.
"Mullum Mullum Stadium will provide a boost for our sporting clubs with a fantastic, high end facility suitable for a range of sporting and recreation activities, including feature competition matches.
"Construction is progressing well and on track for completion in the first half of next year. We look forward to bringing this exciting new facility to the Manningham community.
"I encourage all of our local sporting and community groups that have an interest in using Mullum Mullum Stadium to register with YMCA Manningham," Cr Kleinert said.
Mullum Mullum Stadium will be Manningham’s first fully compliant multi-use basketball and netball facility and will feature a show court space with seating for up to 500 people.
Together with a café, administration facilities, meeting rooms and more, the stadium will be a great place for local sporting groups and clubs.
The stadium is being developed to help address the current shortage of indoor court space in Manningham and is expected to open in mid-2018.
Groups are encouraged to register their interest with YMCA Manningham online at www.manningham.ymca.org.au
The EOI process will be open for six weeks and closes on Friday 13 October.
